About
I am “Ms. D. Ranged in AZ” (aka, Tina). This is my personal blog where I get to expose and rage against tomfoolery, shenanigans and downright idiocy going on in my current state and generally dump my thoughts on anything affecting my state of mind……political, social and personal issues. While you may notice that I take a pretty liberal stance on most issues, I think you’ll find that I might surprise you with some pretty conservative viewpoints on others. I tend to be wonky and my posts overlong but I can’t help it.
In my non-virtual life I am an extremely busy single mom of two incredible kids (one girl 10 and one very happy 3 year old boy). In my “real” life I am a computer programmer, something I went into ass backwards about 15 years ago. Although I work in IT it doesn’t satisfy enough of my desire to create. I end up posting whatever is floating round in my head so there will be cartoons, artwork, poetry and maybe even bits from stories that I have written–of course, I retain all copyrights to the material. I don’t claim to be a good writer but I do love it.
Other interests include reading voraciously but not in any one genre. I love a good laugh and I can’t stand uptight people who don’t know how to laugh. Mostly I end up laughing at myself. So while my posts are often very serious in tone, realize that I know I often sound like a pompous ass. The world needs pompous asses, right?

Dear Mrs. D. Ranged,
I’m here to tell you. You are not alone! There are a few of us among the sand and cactus. I’ve crossed path’s with a few others like us. I hold them as very dear friends when times get rough, which, as you are well aware, is daily. Much like morning coffee, something to live for. So, rage when you must. Cry, when you have to. But by all means smile all the time, how can you not when wearing that great hat and sun glasses. Peace, Gilbert
Thanks for the encouragement Gilbert! I hope you enjoy my “rants”. 🙂
Love it! As a self-taught computer programmer since before there was an internet I get it. 🙂
Ahhhh, a fellow IT geek of a certain age…..we’re like Jedi aren’t we? LOL
Saw it… liked it… bought it! I’m now following you. Or at least I’m following your blog – wouldn’t want any misunderstanding on that score, so no restraining orders are necessary! LOL
thank you!
Well I guess that one good follow follows another! I’m following you and now you’re following me, and hopefully, we aren’t both lost! Thank YOU! 🙂
Holy smokes! You are my hero, a kindred spirit in this crazy state where there are soooo few. So glad I saw you on Robotic Rhetoric. Definitely following. 🙂
Welcome and thanks! It is rare to find someone of like “mind” in AZ.
Hello Tina. I’m not sure how you feel about these awards, and I’m not really sure how this all works or how I feel about them, but I am passing on to you the LIebster Blog Award. I’m sure you probably have more than 200 followers! Anyway, here’s the blurb:
If you would like to accept, please follow these rules:
• Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog.
• Link back to the blogger who awarded you.
• Pick (up to) 5 other blogs who fit within the award parameters (less than 200 followers).
• Inform them that you have chosen them by leaving a comment on their blog.
• Post the award on your blog. You can take it from my post here: http://jmmonahan.wordpress.com/2012/01/30/a-happy-surprise/
Either way, thanks for the good reads.
Thanks, Jeannette! I’ve been so busy it’s ridiculous. I actually don’t have 200 followers 🙂 The highest number of visitors I had last year was 96 views, so I very much appreciate the publicity. Cheers!
Hi Tina. I’m passing on the ABC award to you (Awesome Blog Content!), and I linked to you in my post. 🙂
Thank you. I have been so busy lately with the kids that I am a little slow on responding tp comments. I will do my best to pass this award along.
Very nice blog! Keep Going!!!
Thank you and stop back by. Good luck with your blog.
[…] on April 9, Tina, who writes the blog Mrs. D. Ranged in AZ (A progressive liberal in the literal and figurative desert of Arizona) gave me the ABC (Awesome Blog Content) Award for my blog Camp Humble. (BTW, if there was an award […]
Tina I just love your blog. You have such a dynamic writing style, I can feel the words flow off the page the same way you put them there. That’s a great skill and talent, and I hope you have the best of luck continuing your writing endeavors! I will definitely be back to read more. I just wanted to let you know 🙂
Thank you! I work very hard to create a “voice” and it’s nice to get feedback on it. Please do keep coming back.
Hey! I wanted to send you this as an email or something but I couldn’t find it. (I also don’t have a Twitter account so I couldn’t send you the link there).
But you were the first person that came to mind when I read this:
http://politicalgroove.com/2012/08/new-az-law-pregnancy-begins-two-weeks-before-conception-not-onion-article.html
Please tell me this is…grossly exaggerated? Not true at all? Something?
Sadly, yes is true. It is aimed at moving the deadline for having an abortion back from 20 weeks as set up in Roe v. Wade (I think) to 18 weeks. http://thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/pregnancy-begins-2-weeks-before-conception-now-the-law-in-arizona/politics/2012/04/13/37993
Hi – I saw your entry in the “artists” post on Balloon Juice the other day…I have a friend that does children’s books, especially illustrations. You can check out her works at http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/sonys
If interested, please ping me back and I can put you in touch.
Thanks, Steve
I will do, thanks!
Flagstaff here. Have similar thoughts here about AZ. Love my state… not so much the politics. Bookmarked this to read later. Cheers!
