Color in the Desert

Posted: October 16, 2012 in Personal

I took this a few weeks ago, when it was still around 100. I think this is the Peacock Flower (a flowering shrub) that is very common in AZ. I took it with my phone and the main flower was supposed to be the focus but it appears that the phone blurred that and focused on the background (probably because I was too close). I really shouldn’t even bother with my phone camera….I gotta find my digital, otherwise I’m wasting pixels.   This is one of the few things I like about living in a desert clime–there is so much starkness but when there is beauty, it’s like a brief but intense explosion of color.
