Poetry without the Pixie Dust

I haven’t posted a poem for a long time so here’s my latest.  I don’t know what to title it yet.  It’s dark ,as most my poetry is, so don’t expect any happy horseshit and pixie dust.

Down to the quick, chewed
a spot of blood, a little pain
an offering eschewed
Examining round and round and round
darkness still and in darkness found

Lying in wait, waiting on the lie
notwithstanding force of will
the second hand to defy
circling the crater into the void
nearing the end, overjoyed

Down and round and then
it all disappears
until it starts again
a sacrifice without end
round and round and round
