If you have any empathy in you, this article about a woman’s recent experience with Texas’ new forced ultrasound and 24 hour waiting period for abortions.

Abortion is terrible under the best of circumstances, but these new laws make it a special form of torture. Anti-choice advocates would have you think abortion clinics provide the procedure to young slutty, irresponsible women who skip in to the doctor and skip out an hour later on their way to the next sexual liaison. that’s so far from the truth it is absurd. The reality presented in this article is precisely what many women go through. We need to make our state legislatures understand how unacceptable these new laws are so respectable women, making such heartbreaking choices, are not treated like criminals or imbeciles.

  1. Hands down, no doubt one of the best articles I have read about a personal recount of a woman’s experience with these insane abortion laws springing up all over the country. Most definitely, this needs to be shared, and shared again, and again and again….

That was such a heartbreaking article. I don’t get why politicians think that abortions are easy for women, and that they skip into abortion clinics to get rid of their fetus all the time. Don’t they know it can be traumatizing and that many of them wish they didn’t have to do it but they needed to? Why make it so much worse?! My heart goes out to Ms. Jones and everyone who had to suffer through these anal laws made by people who don’t know jack squat about what it means to get an abortion. I live in a 3rd world country (Lebanon) and there’s a ton of crap that goes down here, and you’d think America would be better in every respect. But nope, not really. How sad is that?

  3. I think someone is sharing this, and sharing it a lot – it took me all day to get onto the website.

It so sad that she had to go through the procedure but then to have the crappy treatment mandated by the state…it’s simply not fair. after I got over being sad I was very, very angry.
