Great Song, Bad Video

Posted: May 24, 2011 in Non-AZ, Personal

I liked this song the instant I first heard it….”Hemmorhage” by Fuel from the album Something Like Human.  Over the years I’ve come to appreciate it even more but the video now seems way overdone and over-acted.  Maybe its just me not liking all the camera mugging being done by lead singer, Brett Scallions.

The opening lyrics are so raw and call to mind Elvis Costello’s song “Watching the Detectives” for some reason (yes, the tone of the two songs is completely different but it must have to with the imagery of dead bodies and water I suppose).

The opening lines:

Memories are just where you laid them
Dragging the waters til the depths give up their dead
What did you expect to find?
Was it something you left behind?
